Jesus told his followers that they shouldn't treat others the way others treated them. Rather, he said to treat others as want to be treated. That principle still applies today. If everyone followed that counsel then there wouldn't be any wars or hatred.
We never really grow up....
We only learn how to act in public
The quote means that you're always a kid mentally, but the difference between adults and children is that adults learn how to behave in public. ( Well, some adults know how to behave in public.)
