1. you are who you are when no one is looking
this mean you act differently when you are with your friends than when you are alone.
this appeals to me because when I'm with my friends I'm different.

This quote refers to me and anyone because some people may say bad things about you behind your back.  Even if they do, you shouldn't worry about it and you should move on.

This refers to everyone because at some point in life everyone will lose.  You have to get past the losing and eventually you will win.

I think this describes me very well. I dont ever ever clean my room. I hate cleaning. My mom will ask me to do the dishes and i will procrastinate on it for like a week. So why clean anything when its just going to get dirty again? lol.

I like food, so i think this describes me well. I thought the picture was really funny, so thats why i chose that picture.

Seriously, People these days are so stupid. This quote is so funny. I may get along with alot of people, but it doesn't mean there not stupid sometimes. lol.

I like this quotes because it shows that you dont care what people think, And that you should just live life without caring what people thing.

This quote is just very inspirational. I think everyone should live as close as you can to this quote. 





“I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

I like this quote because it is kind of true. You can do the dumbest things in high school, but if you treat someone bad they will never forget it. 




Blog 12: Aphorisms

Aphorisms

Aphorism – a brief saying embodying a moral; a concise statement of a principle or precept given in pointed words.

In plain English, an aphorism is a little saying that provides a moral or guidance for life.

For this week's blog, you'll be locating three aphorisms (see below!) that you can relate to your life and your future.  This can be a pretty fun project and won't take a lot of time.  The requirements:

Locate three aphorisms and FOR EACH ONE:
   1. Explain the meaning of the aphorism
   2. Explain why it appeals to you and how it relates to your life
   3. Illustrate it by adding a photo, piece of clip art from the web, or something similar
(*See Examples Below*)

**If you get stuck, please see me right away and I can help you.  The addition of an illustration is new this time and while it's not difficult, you may not be sure how to do it.  Here is the quick method:

On the compose blog page, look at the top for the box that looks like a picture and click "Insert Image"   For this one, I did a google search of Siddhartha in images; I went to the website and copied the URL to add the picture

Example aphorisms:

1. "Why should things be easy to understand?"-Thomas Pynchon

Thomas Pynchon, one of my favorite authors, asked this question in response to a review of his book which commented on the novel's complexity. The author has many fans who love his stories because they are challenging and sometimes difficult to understand. It is a fair question. I feel the same way about Pynchon's work, and any type of work in general. It is important to know that the world, and on a greater scale, the universe (see above picture), will present you with situations and problems that will be difficult to understand. A person has to have the ability to learn from these moments in order to come to know who they are and what they can accomplish. 

2. "Don't take yourself too seriously; no one else does."

People sometimes take themselves too seriously, and these people can be difficult. Although I believe it is important to take life seriously, I think it is equally important to have a good time and have a healthy sense of humor, even if it means laughing at yourself every once in a while... or all the time like I do, because I am funny.

"Make peace with your past so it won't screw up your future." 


It is important to reflect on your past to learn from it, but it is also equally important to move on because dwelling on past events can be unhealthy, especially considering that there is nothing a person can do about what has already happened. Learn and become a better person so that there can be hope for the future.

Post 11: Credo

Greetings!

As we begin our Unit on Identity and our reading of Hermann Hesse's short novel, Siddhartha, I would like you all to reflect on who you are and what you believe is important in life by writing a credo. A credo is any formal or authorized statement of beliefs, principles, or opinions that guide a person's actions. Here is an example:

I believe in the wisdom of elders,
the influence of peer pressure,
the importance of success,
the evil that exists in money,
the effectiveness of hard work,
dedication, courage, strength.
But the belief that you don't have to strive
for your goals is just outrageous.
I believe in the truth that will set you free,
I believe in love that will conquer all,
I believe in respect for others,
Courtesy, politeness, gratitude.
And I believe in the fact that tomorrow
isn't promised to you.

The people of deposit come up with so many ways that they say how deposit came to be. But this is the true story. I was there, i was a dinosaur. I know exactly how it started. So all these other stories, don’t listen to them. There dumb.
At the beginning of time, when dinosaurs roamed the earth there was a mighty dinosaur named Michael Jackson. He was super cool and super fine. He got all the ladies. He was purple and blue and he painted his toenails all sorts of different glowing colors.
He searched for the perfect girlfriend for years. he went to all the surrounding towns and went through all the ladies testing them to see who’s love was loyal. He liked being the center of attention. Until he found his love. He traveled 60 miles this day and finally brought his lady home for his family to meet.
She was the finest lady in all the land and she was awesome. She cooked and cleaned and even made cookies everyday for when her husband came home from work. One day they were making pizza, tossing them up. Catching them. Putting cheese and pepperoni on them. They were on their 28th pizza and micheal through the pizza up alittle high and it stuck to the ceiling.
They thought this was the coolest thing. They thought it was the coolest piece of artwork they had ever seen. Micheal called up all of his friends that day and invited them over for a party that night. Atleast 26 dinosaurs showed up. They all came into the kitchen and they immediatly left and went to the grocery and bought all of the stuff to make these pizzas.
They all went home and put as many pizzas as they could on the ceiling. Even more people found out about this creation and everyone in the dinosaur city did it. The pizza piled up so high that a new town was formed and it was called Deposit.

Post 10: Myth Making


For this blog, you will be working with a partner in creating a myth about Deposit. You can come up with a story about how the town was created or any heroic figures who may have been a part of Deposit's ancient history. Use the myth of the Monkey King from our class readings and Gene Luen Yang's American Born Chinese for examples.

After writing the myth, you will create a graphic version of the story in at least three comic book frames. Artwork is due Monday, 3/4/13.

Your myth should be at least 300-400 words, and must be posted by 3pm Friday (**signed by both partners**).
